We are Coastal Power & Marine, the new area distributor for Steyr Motors & JetPac Motors. We were born out of the collapsed relationship between Steyr Motors and Stewart & Stevenson. Our founder, Mr. Johnny Mere, was simply in search of a diesel engine package for his new catamaran offshore boat, when he stumbled across Steyr. He was so taken by the qualities of this engine, that he insisted his O.E.M. put Steyrs in his new boat. He was so convinced by Steyr's quality, that he even financed this first-time installation. Over the course of the project, Johnny came to know the gentlemen from Stewart & Stevenson who were representing Steyr at the time. He was very impressed with their knowledge and integrity. As the relationship between Steyr and S&S soured, everyone could see the writing on the wall. Johnny's group and the Steyr group from S&S were a natural fit of business acumen, diesel know-how, and a strong belief in the finest marine engine in the world. Johnny spent two tireless years cultivating our relationship with Steyr by traveling countrywide and over the pond to Austria promoting the incredible technological advances made by this small engine company from Europe. He did this with no commitment from Steyr itself. He believed in it that much. Well, it finally culminated as Coastal Power & Marine, your new Steyr Motors distributor. As you may know yourself, family businesses make the strongest businesses, and Coastal Power is no exception. While Johnny is still actively promoting Steyr, he has handed the day-to-day mechanics of running the business over to the next generation. His son, Trent Mere, will work with you everyday to ensure you will receive the highest quality support and service available in the industry. We know that without the best technical support, parts availability, quick warranty claims resolution, and marketing support driving sales, you will not be happy, and neither will our end-users. We know that happy end-users will ultimately determine our fate, and that is why our first priority is giving you the best service possible.
